Victorian Oncology Care Appointments

What to expect in your appointment?

VOC is a specialist clinic. You will require a referral for a consultation with our doctors. A referral can be obtained from your family doctor (duration of 12 months or indefinite) or a specialist (surgeon or physician, duration of 3 months).

The first consultation usually takes from 30 minutes to 1 hour. Please arrive 10 minutes early if you are a new patient. You will need to complete registration details.

We encourage you to bring a trusted family member or friend with you when you come in. It is valuable to have a support person with you and offer ‘another set of ears’ to listen to information and results. We also encourage you write notes and keep them in a diary.

VOC is a private clinic and all fees are payable in full at the time of consultation. Pensioners will receive a reduced fee. Medicare rebates can be processed on the day for your convenience. Our fees reflect the time taken in the consultation and the complexity of your medical case. All inpatient fees and drugs listed on the PBS will be fully covered by your health insurance with no out of pocket fees. Our office will liaise directly with all major private health funds so that you do not need to submit any inpatient accounts yourself.
